Role Overview
The senior health care support worker role involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands‑on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, PICC and Port access and care; observations, urinalysis, BM recording, ECG recording; preparing for clinics and maintaining high standards of documentation and record keeping.

* Conduct observations, urinalysis and BM recording.
* Record ECGs.
* Prepare for clinics and maintain high standards of documentation and record keeping.

Collaboration
The role involves working collaboratively with registered nurses, clinicians and members of the Multi‑Disciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department.
About the Department
Outpatients currently support a wide variety of clinical teams and activities within the department including ECG, phlebotomy, PICC & Port access and care. This offers staff a varied working day and daily learning opportunities.
Key Requirements
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience of working as a Band 3 health care support worker (essential).
* Phlebotomy experience (desired).
Location and Flexibility
This role will be mostly based within the clinics in The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral; however there may be a requirement to work flexibly supporting other Outpatient Clinics across our sites (Liverpool, Aintree and Paddington) if necessary.
