**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes.
* Key Responsibilities:
* You'll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues on control systems, minimising downtime and ensuring smooth operations.
* Take charge of developing and executing maintenance schedules for PLCs, HMIs, and other automation hardware, keeping everything running at peak performance.
* Work with Siemens, Omron, and Allen-Bradley PLC systems to enhance and modify control programs to meet ever evolving production needs.
* Spearhead system upgrades and process improvements, driving the implementation of new technologies to keep ahead of the curve.
* Lead engineering projects that improve site operations, efficiency, and sustainability, collaborating across teams to make it happen.
* Ensure our control systems meet the highest safety standards, maintaining detailed records and adhering to regulations.
**Requirements**
* Ideally qualified to HNC level. You'll also have an electrical competency certification (BS7671) and UK Electrical Test & Inspection qualifications.
* Proven experience in Controls Engineering, particularly with Siemens, Omron, and Allen-Bradley PLCs in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* You'll need to be proficient in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Familiarity with industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus) is essential.
* You'll need to be a quick thinker, identifying and solving problems proactively to keep operations running smoothly.
* Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, robotics, motion control, and advanced automation tech.
* Knowledge of safety systems (SIL, ISO 13849) and certifications in specific PLC platforms.
