Job Description Job Reference: JH-OO-SFCC Job Title: Support Worker Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum) Hours: 4 hours per week / flexible during school holidays Hourly Rate of Pay: £12.50 Based at: Employer's own home in Haverhill, Suffolk and out in the local community. Job Purpose Caring for a nonverbal autistic young boy during the school holidays either at home in Haverhill Suffolk or out in the local community. Main duties: To support with: * Personal care e.g. changing nappies / toileting. * Constant supervision is required at all times. * Support with all safety aspects. * Assisting with medication * To support with feeding and drinking (help to make food / drinks) * Keeping him entertained and happy at home or either outside. * To build and friendly and trustworthy relationships with the child. * The boy does have epilepsy so you must follow his care plan. * The child is nonverbal and communicates through a talk pad. * The candidate must like dogs / cats. * To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys. * To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required. * Personal Specification * Flexible in the hours and times that you can work. * Experience with caring for children with epilepsy and autism is essential * You should have knowledge and understanding of risks. * Be patient, friendly and supportive.
