Tagged Resources client, an established, well-known retailer, has a fantastic opportunity for a detail-driven, proactive, and innovative Garment Technologist to join a smalldynamic product development and garment technology team, working across multi-product, men’s, ladies, and kids. Suitable applicants will have experience in a relevant garment technology role and a strong desire to contribute to a high-performance product team.
What the Garment Technologist will be doing:
* Attend and contribute to final proto fit sessions prior to seasonal handover.
* Check and measure SMS garments, arrange fit test hand over with the development team
* and send reports to the suppliers, request size sets or PP samples when required.
* Manage the product grading. Constant review of range to ensure all sizes meet brand size guide.
* Check all bulk specifications and amend them where needed then send to the suppliers with
* the SMS comments. Answer any questions the suppliers may have once they receive the specs.
* Request product compliance documentation when sending the bulk specs. Manage, log, check and keep updated.
* Check and measure all size set sample garments, arrange fit test with the development team
* to ensure the fit is correct as required by the developers. Send the reports to the suppliers requesting revised size set samples or pre-production samples when required.
* Check and measure all pre-production samples and send the reports to the suppliers. Fit test if needed, request pre-shipping samples if needed.
* Arrange size set testing (from size set samples or bulk). Communicate with wearer testers and use feedback to improve fit across all sizes, excluding base size.
* Meet seasonal critical path deadlines, report to Product Development Manager regularly and update proto monitor spreadsheet.
* Assist in the preparation for the seasonal product launches.
* Help and advise the production department to resolve any issues related to faulty returned products.
* Check swing tickets, wash care labels & packaging is correct on SMS before bulk production.
* Stock take SMS account, manage it accordingly and return all un-wanted SMS garments to stock.
* Carry out ad hoc random QC check at the request of the production team. This will include any new orders that are not QC checked by our third party, or any stock that there have been previous quality issues with.
* To carry out SMU project work as required.
* Liaise with the Product Development Manager on a continual basis.
* Liaise with the design/development team on a continual basis.
* Communicate regularly with the production team throughout the season.
* Attend and contribute to brand meeting every other month.
* Foster increased communication across company brands for the best industry practice.
* Attend any relevant product compliance meetings
* Build and maintain strong business relationships with our product factories and fabric suppliers using clear and effective communication using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Be available for occasional overseas travel to factories to discuss production and maintain the Fair Wear Foundation standards.
* Ensure that all ISO procedures associated with this job are done in line with documentation and any changes are managed according to ISO requirements.
What the Garment Technologist will need:
* Experience in a relevant Garment Technology role.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to collaborate effectively across teams.
* Highly organised, with an exceptional attention to detail and a passion for getting the small things right.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator for technical drawing and communication.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* A passion for running is desirable and will help you connect with the product and the brand ethos.
* Educated to degree level in a Textile or Fashion-based subject is a plus
