Key Responsibilities
You will typically start your day in store and be responsible for:
1. Checking your delivery routes for the day.
2. Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together for efficient delivery to customers.
3. Completing vehicle safety checks to maintain road compliance, health, and safety standards.
4. Representing the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service on the road.
5. Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
6. Supporting the shop team with general tasks when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* IT literacy.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will deliver quality Waitrose products and Partner-led service directly to customers' doors, embodying our ethos of passionate Partners serving food lovers.
When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with stock replenishment and housekeeping tasks, contributing to the shop's efficient operation. The role offers varied part-time hours across seven days, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, between 06:00 and 22:15.
