Looking for a dedicated, proud fabricator / welder to join our workshop team, the role involves turning up in the morning and be willing to work some over time hours during our busy harvest period from September - November. Our main focus is to fix machinery, get it back up and running and out in the field. We design everything here on the farm by using CAD, we farm potatoes, apples, maize, corn, beet and bespoke potato graders, trailers etc.
Skills needed-
- Fabricate and assemble metal agricultural equipment to a good standard.
- Operate hand and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components.
- Perform basic math calculations to determine measurements and dimensions.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Proficient in MIG & TIG welding.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read CAD drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Forklift driving essential.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder or similar role.
- Certification in welding is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
* Able to cope with long hours over the busy harvest period and the stress of meeting deadlines.
