Building Services Engineer
Department: Corporate Services and Facilities
Salary: £43,151 - £46,387 plus Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2,500 per annum
This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week, open to flexible, compressed, and part-time working patterns with a minimum coverage of 30 hours Monday to Friday. You will be part of an on-call rota typically for a week every six weeks, for which you will receive an on-call allowance.
About the Role:
You will work on an estate with advanced technical facilities, supporting security and maintaining a variety of unique facilities, services, and utilities across multiple buildings—including manufacturing workshops, laboratories, server rooms, and offices. The campus features buildings of varying ages and infrastructure, requiring dynamic and diverse technical support.
You will manage projects ranging from new facility installations to statutory compliance, handle reactive repairs, and use your analytical skills for diagnosing and fixing building systems. The role involves interaction with a broad range of users and suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
You will join a small, supportive team that encourages professional development through courses, including externally recognized CIBSE certifications and in-house sessions.
Requirements:
* Professional qualification in building services or relevant experience
* Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
* Knowledge of building regulations, safety standards, and sustainable technologies
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Desirable skills include experience with ISO standards, AutoCAD, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure site safety and legal compliance
* Lead project work including system replacements and upgrades
