About the Role:
Position: SEND Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-term roles with potential to go permanent
Working Hours: Full-time
As someone with SEND experience, you will work closely with children who have specific learning and/or physical difficulties or additional needs, providing them with the tailored support they require to flourish in their educational journey.
We are working with a new SEN school in Okehampton known for their inclusivity and commitment to the wellbeing of students. You will work in an environment where staff are dedicated to supporting both the social and academic development of all children. You'll also have access to on-the-job training and resources to continually grow your skills. The school caters for children across KS2-4 with Autism, SEMH, and behavioural needs.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEND (professionally or personally)
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and their families
* A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude toward supporting children with additional needs
* A collaborative approach to working alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals
* Be available ASAP on a full-time basis
