Health Care Assistant (Levels 2 and 3) at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability. Permanent full time position in Putney, Southwest London. Hours: 150 hours over a 4‑week period (≈37.5 h per week). Role Summary
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability (RHN) is a leading national centre of excellence providing adult person‑centred services from post‑acute rehabilitation to end‑of‑life care for people with complex neuro‑disability and their families. This role is within either the Brain Injury Service or the Specialist Nursing Home. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, helping maximise their independence and supporting them in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist patients with personal hygiene (washing, bathing, dressing, continence, mouth care) to enable independence.
* Assist with mobility, including hoisting, positioning, and use of mobility aids.
* Support patients with eating and drinking tasks, including adapted feeding equipment and recording intake.
* Communicate proficiently with patients, including those with complex communication needs or behavioural/emotional challenges.
* Support patients in social and leisure activities and facilitate participation in programmes.
* Participate in a 24‑hour, 7‑day week staff roster, including bank holidays; shift patterns may vary and include split days off, requiring high flexibility.

Person Specification
Essential
* Previous experience in a health or social care support role.
* Qualification to GCSE or equivalent.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good command of English.
* Ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
* Willingness to work flexible shift patterns, including weekends and nights.
Desirable
* Health or social care related degree or equivalent qualification.
* Experience with patients with complex requirements and brain injury.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
