They are proactively searching for an experienced, capable EIA Technical Director, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside a growing team of expert scientists and engineers, based near the diverse, historical city of Newport Benefits for the role of EIA Technical Director include (but are not limited to): Competitive base salary Performance-related discretionary bonus scheme Contributory Pension Very generous annual leave entitlement Possibility to buy or sell annual leave days Flexible working opportunities Clear career progression routes Financial support in attaining professional membership (such as Chartered Status) Medical and healthcare plans available Cycle-to-Work Scheme Responsibilities for the role of EIA Technical Director include: Manage a number of water-related projects, overseeing them in their entirety, from initial inception through to successful delivery Produce, review, and amend key hydrological, water resource, and peat management Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters for renewable energy, infrastructure, and transportation projects Liaise with and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders to produce EIA Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications for an array of projects Actively contribute to business development strategies Required skills and experience for the role of EIA Technical Director include: A good Initial Degree (with an Upper Second Class Honours or higher) in an environmental or numerate discipline Extensive experience in producing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in relation to a number of characteristically-different water environments (e.g. rivers, wetlands, etc.) Demonstrable experience of coordinating Environmental Assessments Excellent working knowledge of EIA regulations Highly proficient understanding of the UK Planning System Excellent understanding of flood management and drainage strategies/systems and their uses Highly competent in the use of GIS software packages Experience of leading/managing projects and/or a team of staff Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Outstanding numeracy skills Possess a full, valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle Willing to travel across the UK to undertake a variety of projects Possess professional membership of a relevant professional body (or actively working toward this) Desirable skills and experience for the role of EIA Technical Director include: Hold a Master's (or higher) Degree in a relevant environmental or numerate discipline Excellent time management and organisation skills If you are interested in the role of EIA Technical Director, please do not hesitate to contact the Hydrology Team at Penguin Recruitment.
