Why this job matters
We're looking for a motivated and strategic individual to support our growth across the Public Safety & Justice sector, playing a key role in driving BT’s success in this vital area. Working closely with the Sales Manager, this role will help deliver our overall sales strategy and expand our presence in the sector.
What you’ll be doing
* Proactively contributes to the Sales Strategy function by supporting Sales Teams in the creation of Account Strategies and Account Development Plans.
* Supports the development and execution of sales activities within the Public Safety & Justice (PS&J) sector.
* Defines, develops, and owns key customer relationships and customer contact strategies, in support of Account Managers and Account Directors.
* Takes responsibility for developing successful, sustainable, and profitable long-term relationships with vendors across complex hierarchies, including escalation management to the appropriate level.
* Identifies and develops new propositions and vendor partnerships to enhance BT’s capabilities and broaden our opportunity footprint.
* Leads bid activity where necessary, particularly in accounts without aligned Field Sales resources, to drive acquisition and growth.
* Proactively develops a strong understanding of the PS&J marketplace, customer needs, and sector-specific transformation roadmaps. Supports Account Development Planning to ensure the wider team accurately reflects the evolving competitive landscape and BT’s positioning within it.
* Identifies emerging industry trends and fosters strategic relationships with key vendors and customers to unlock future growth for BT and the PS&J sector.
* Collaborates closely with Account Managers/Directors to deliver value, drive innovation, and support customer success.

* Experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role within the Telecommunications or Technology sectors.
* Proven experience managing senior-level (e.g. C-suite) customer relationships within the UK Private Sector and/or Local Government sector.
* Track record of consistently achieving sales targets and developing strategic account plans for large government customers.
* Experience leading and coordinating virtual teams to deliver customer-centric, commercially sound solutions.
* Familiarity with professional sales methodologies such as SPIN Selling, NLP, or other recognised frameworks.
