GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield this September. This is a rewarding opportunity for an SEN TA who thrives on helping children with diverse learning needs reach their full potential.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring access to learning in a safe and inclusive environment.
* Assist the class teacher with planning, adapting, and delivering lessons based on individual needs and EHCPs.
* Foster positive relationships to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and behavioural development.
* Monitor progress and help implement appropriate intervention strategies in collaboration with SENCOs and teachers.
* Encourage independence and build confidence in learners through consistent, patient support.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN in school or care settings is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A nurturing and resilient approach to working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
* Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
