The closing date is 17 March 2026
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join our Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team at the James Paget University Hospital, on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2027.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we work on developing the service to meet the needs of the children and young people across Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
Main duties of the job
As a Paediatric occupational therapist, you will work with children and young people from birth to 19 years old to deliver a wide variety of occupational therapy assessment and intervention. You will be responsible for your own caseload, supporting children in clinic, hospital and community settings, including:
* Palliative/end‑of‑life conditions
* Impaired perception and communication skills, e.g., cerebral palsy, learning disability
The role is based at our Newberry Child Development Centre but will also involve working in homes, schools and other community settings. You will need good organisational and time‑management skills to prioritise and manage your caseload efficiently and effectively.
You will ensure the use of effective assessment skills to identify, formulate, implement and evaluate individualised treatment plans and will demonstrate effective communication to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. You will also be expected to manage barriers to communication and motivate patients to maximise their potential.
Non‑clinical duties include attending and being an active member of team meetings and peer support groups, contributing to service development ideas, training and supervision of students and therapy assistant practitioners.
