Job Description:
VANRATH is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within the Building Maintenance department for a leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The role offers a salary of £55,000 - £65,000 plus a company car/fuel and benefits package.

Overview: Lead all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects, focusing on profitability, legal and contractual compliance, and proactive management of commercial issues. Responsible for applications, valuations, payments, and aligning activities with company policies. Play a key role in guiding commercial strategy and ensuring successful project delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection. Provide strategic insights to maximize profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Lead contract preparation, negotiation, variations, and ensure contractual obligations are met with minimal legal risks.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors to ensure value and strategy alignment.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct valuations, manage subcontractor payments, prepare final accounts, and oversee profitability reporting, identifying risks and opportunities.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks, safeguarding company interests.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Proven track record in senior roles with high-value projects
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices
* Advanced knowledge of contract law, regulations, and safety standards
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills
* Social Housing or maintenance experience preferred
* Good IT skills and ability to work under pressure
