The succesful candidate will support the management team in reviewing new and existing customers’ creditworthiness in line with the company’s risk appetite and commercial focus, along with general account queries, reporting requirements and all forms of communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, analyse, and evaluate credit facilities on a prescribed review template in respect of new and existing customers using:
* Documentation and information sourced from customers, third-parties, general research and internal transactional and risk assessment data
* Financial accounts, identifying trends and information contained in financials that is relevant to the decision-making process
* Multiple other sources of data that also inform the credit decision, identifying issues and following up with customers and the Commercial team to establish a clear view
* Credit review recommendations detail credit limits, additional security and other requirements that should reflect the information available and relate to the risk appetite of the business.
* Support the management of the team’s workload and resources to achieve timely completion without impacting quality, including accurately maintaining the logs and other records.
* Following up future-dated conditions of approval and signing off the completion of conditions of approval (stipulations). This is a highly sensitive task, to allow credit approvals to be actioned strictly in line with the credit decision.
* Ability to be flexible, dependable and reliable in this small team in which members are occasionally required to be cross-functional
* Provide guidance and advice to more junior members of the credit team
* Provide back-up support in the administration of the credit department, handling applications, requests and queries from customers and other areas of the business
Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of vehicle stock funding
* At least 5 years’ experience in credit underwriting and analysis of financial statements (full and management accounts) relating to businesses of all sizes, types and levels of complexity, including an understanding of company and non-incorporated business types
* Strong analytical skills to identify strengths and weaknesses in credit applications, plus anomalies that may require further investigation
* Excellent attention to detail in analysis and presentation is critical
* A self-motivated individual with good commercial skills
* Strong communicator with the ability to influence and present effectively to board-level stakeholders, clients, and internal teams
