Overview

Job Box Team

At Telford & Wrekin Council, we are recruiting Employment Specialists to join the Job Box team as part of the Connect to Work program. This role focuses on supported employment for adults with disabilities, health conditions or complex needs, helping them enter sustained paid work.


Responsibilities

The Employment Specialist will:

* Manage a caseload of up to 25 customers, engaging with them face‑to‑face to assess needs and progress towards employment.
* Apply the supported employment “place and train” model to identify suitable job placements and support customers through the transition.
* Work directly with employers to generate employment opportunities, troubleshoot placement issues, and advocate on behalf of customers.
* Co‑operate with the Job Box team to monitor outcomes and provide coaching to customers and employers.


Qualifications & Personal Attributes

* No prior experience with the “place and train” model is required – training will be provided.
* Experience in a similar support or employment role is an advantage.

* Effective communication skills, ability to adapt, challenge discrimination and advocate for customers.
