Small Works Engineer Gillingham Salary: £40,000 We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Small Works Engineer to join a growing team. In this role, you’ll deliver small-scale fire safety projects and maintenance tasks, ensuring systems are reliable, compliant, and optimised - helping to keep people and businesses safe every day. What you’ll do: Install and commission small to medium-scale fire alarm projects (addressable and non-addressable systems) Commission systems from a range of manufacturers Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to plan and deliver high-quality outcomes Provide professional, solutions-focused customer service Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently Complete reports, timesheets, and expenses accurately Attend appointments punctually and maintain a clean work environment Communicate promptly with the office about any major system issues or site challenges Represent the company professionally on all customer sites Who we’re looking for: Advanced experience with fire alarm systems FIA Units 1, 2/3, and 5 Proven installation and commissioning skills Solid understanding of electrical installation procedures in fire and security Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to build trust with clients Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications High attention to detail, initiative, and professionalism We value curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn, so even if you don’t tick every box, we encourage you to apply.
