What you’ll be doing
1. Produce supervision plans for each scheme, including resource requirements, testing, certification and health and safety considerations
2. Undertake the role of Supervisor in line with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
3. Review and assess electrical designs and installations, including lighting, traffic signals and power distribution systems
4. Ensure compliance with electrical standards, codes and safety regulations
5. Work with engineers, contractors and stakeholders to optimise electrical systems
6. Identify and resolve conflicts between civil and electrical designs
7. Carry out inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety
8. Issue instructions to contractors where required, including out of hours
9. Review health and safety files using as built information
10. Review Construction Phase Plans on behalf of the Client where required
11. Ensure full understanding of scheme designs and raise constructability queries
12. Review inspection and test plans and agree witnessing requirements
13. Witness testing and commissioning activities and maintain accurate records
14. Identify and report defects in line with contract requirements
15. Verify that workmanship and materials meet specification standards
16. Monitor progress and provide advice to the Client Project Manager
17. Report risks and issues clearly and in a timely manner
18. Provide regular updates on safety, quality, progress and completion
19. Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits and testing
20. Attend meetings and site inspections as required
21. Maintain high standards of safety and quality throughout construction
22. Support resolution of technical challenges on site
23. Represent the business professionally and build strong working relationships
24. Develop understanding of design to support effective delivery on site
Who we’re looking for
25. Experience working closely with construction teams and stakeholders
26. NEC3 or NEC4 Supervisor accreditation, or working towards this
27. Strong understanding of electrical systems in infrastructure projects
28. Degree or HND in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
29. Experience in the design and construction of highways projects
30. Knowledge of BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations is desirable
31. ECS card under NHSS8 or a CSCS card
32. Strong communication and report writing skills
33. A proactive and detail focused approach
34. A practical and collaborative approach to problem solving
35. Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Specification for Highway Works
36. Experience working as an NEC Supervisor
37. Understanding of traffic management and temporary works
