If so, we have got just the role for you! An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen to join the Planning Enforcement Department with Birmingham City Council. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Enforcement Officer to join our team, where you will play a key role in Planning Enforcement. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing, investigating and managing enforcement complaints, managing caseloads throughout the lifecycle of a complaint whilst maintain accurate case management and administrative records, using a variety of IT systems. You will also undertake site visits and attend meetings across the city in connection with cases. Some of the skills required include: Able to conduct investigations and inspections. Capable of applying principles to make informed decisions and effectively solve problems. Able and willing to undertake a range of enforcement action. Experience of working effectively with the public or businesses and providing excellent customer service to a variety of stakeholders. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including during conflict situations. Able to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines. Able to work flexibly which may include some work outside normal office hours. The requirement to drive is essential. You will be expected to travel within Birmingham for which you will be remunerated for the use of your car.
