Working Location: Office based with expectation of worldwide travel for vessel inspections.
We are currently searching for an Assistant HSEQ Superintendent to add to our team.
Candidates must be good team workers and have a drive for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate would be an experienced OOW looking for their first shore based role.
Responsibilities
* The role of the Assistant HSEQ Superintendent consists of being part of a highly motivated group, responsible to the HSEQ Manager, assisting the HSEQ Superintendents in regards to marine operations and safety matters, providing marine support to the Technical Superintendents as required.
* Understudy the duties of the HSEQ Superintendent in preparation for promotion to that position.
* Carry out Projects as assigned by Senior Management.
* Coordination of Vetting activities and maintaining vetting records.
* Perform shipboard audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Perform remote navigational audits as required.
* Assisting with accident and/or incident investigations and preparing associated report(s).
* Provide limited cover for HSEQ Superintendents during periods when they are travelling on business or during holiday periods.
* Assist in ensuring Company vessels are operated safely in compliance with local and international regulatory and statutory maritime frameworks such as but not limited to: ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, etc.
* Responding to and closing out near miss reports as required.
* Reviewing risk assessments and updating as required.
* Due to the requirements of the job, the successful candidate will be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of Glasgow.
