Teaching Assistant – West End
Contract – Part Time
Start date – February 2026
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in the West End area, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally during their primary years.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience working with children in a primary school setting (KS1 and/or KS2 experience desirable).
* Be nurturing, patient, and supportive, with a positive approach to learning and behaviour.
* Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Feel confident supporting children of varying abilities within the classroom.
* Be proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic about making a difference.
* Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across KS1 and KS2.
* Provide general classroom support, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
* Assist with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
* Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and positive learning environment.
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in pupils.
* Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
