A top 50 accountancy practice is looking for an experienced and motivated Private Client Tax Manager to join a forward-thinking and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of tax professionals, delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services to a varied client base. You will play a key role in shaping the strategy and direction of the private client tax function while building strong relationships with clients.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide expert tax advice and guidance to clients, managing compliance and planning projects effectively.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals, ensuring high standards and consistent service delivery.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and regulations to inform clients and the team.
* Act as the primary client contact in the absence of partners, ensuring excellent client service.
* Identify and develop business opportunities within the private client sector, including attending seminars and building referral networks.
* Review and sign-off high-risk tax returns and related documents.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Support recruitment, training, and development of team members to build long-term capability.
* Uphold professional standards and risk management policies within all work activities.
Personal Requirements
* CTA-qualified or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with significant experience in a practice environment.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues.
* Commercially aware with proven business development experience.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing client and business needs.
* Experience with CCH software is desirable but not essential.
