Join a multi-award-winning climate tech company driving the next generation of sustainable solutions.

We’re looking for an experienced Simulation & Modelling Engineer with a strong background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to join a pioneering clean-tech start-up based in Cambridgeshire. This is a rare opportunity to apply advanced modelling techniques to the development of next-generation thermal management technologies—helping to shape novel, energy-efficient solutions that address real-world sustainability challenges.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive Simulation and Modelling Engineer with expertise in computational fluid dynamics, conjugate heat transfer and Ansys Fluent. This role will directly contribute to the optimisation and advancement of our novel thermal management technology, ensuring performance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and validate computational fluid dynamics models to enhance the device’s performance.
* Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to integrate simulation results into the development of the company’s systems.
* Conduct detailed analysis using SolidWorks, Ansys Fluent and COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate fluid dynamics and thermodynamic processes, in particular transient problems.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure analyses align with overall product goals and assist in transitioning projects from design to manufacturing stages.
* Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

* A Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or HVAC Engineering, or a related field. PhD holders are welcome to apply.
* 2+ years of experience in CFD modelling and demonstrated skills in Ansys Fluent.
* Expertise in transient simulations and thermal management problems.
* Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics, Python, Excel and other analytical tools is beneficial.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Skills:

* In-depth knowledge on the principles and application of computational fluid dynamics, as well as thermodynamics, heat transfer and experimental testing.
* Experience in or knowledge of the cooling and heating space, appliance industry, or similar domains is a plus.
* Experience in hardware and software for measurement and data acquisition (e.g. Flow meters etc) is a plus.

Reasons to Join

* Work on cutting-edge technology that makes a real difference in energy efficiency and environmental impact.
* Collaborate with world-class researchers and industry professionals in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
* Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth and development through hands-on experience and training.

This is an exciting chance to help scale a game-changing climate technology and play a meaningful role in reshaping a legacy industry for the better.
