About the Role
Think FE are working with a well-established and forward-thinking further education college in North Yorkshire to recruit an Electrical Engineering Assessor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers.
You will manage a caseload of apprentices, supporting them through their qualifications while working closely with employers to ensure high-quality training and timely achievement. This role blends assessment, coaching, and relationship management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical and people-focused work.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and assess a caseload of electrical engineering apprentices
Deliver inductions, initial assessments, and create individual learning plans
Monitor learner progress and support achievement of apprenticeship standards
Work closely with employers to ensure effective workplace training, including 20% off-the-job requirements
Provide ongoing support, guidance, and motivation to learners
Conduct workplace reviews and health & safety checks
Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement activities
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Engineering
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Industry experience as an Electrical Engineer
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
TAQA/A1 Assessor qualification (You must be willing to work towards)
Teaching qualification
Internal Verification (V1) award
