Assistant Store Manager - 40 Hour Permanent Contract

Originally selling workwear to local mariners and practical overalls to artists, our story began in a small shop in Penzance in 1981. This role sits within the Store Management team and supports with running a Seasalt store to maximise profitability and KPI targets. It is a strong stepping stone in retail with potential to progress to Store Manager roles.


Responsibilities

* Assisting the Store Manager in creating a service culture that puts the customer at the heart of everything the team does
* Enabling the store team to recommend additional services to drive sales (omnichannel selling, gathering customer data, and suggesting add-ons)
* Supporting recruitment to build a diverse and passionate team
* Being a role model, driving store sales, profitability and KPI achievement, and understanding what is required to drive performance
* Coaching and developing the store team through regular 1:1s and development plans
* Communicating store performance to the team and stakeholders, providing regular feedback and highlighting risks and opportunities
* Implementing store visual merchandising, window standards, and using product information to maximise opportunities
* Managing store operations including stock, loss prevention, incident reporting, health and safety, GDPR, cash handling, and key holder responsibilities
* Serving as a key-holder and running the store when required


Qualifications / Skills

Leading the way with exceptional retail skills, product knowledge and commercial know-how. Previous experience in leading a team at supervisor level or above, preferably in a retail environment with KPI achievement and budget management. Ability to lead the store to support the Store Manager, coach and develop the team, and communicate effectively to build a culture of trust. Problem-solving and idea-sharing to achieve results.
