We are currently working on behalf of CAFCASS to recruit a Court Adviser based in the Gwent area. CAFCASS independently advises family courts on what is safe for children and in their best interests. It is the largest employer of qualified social workers in Wales and is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children it supports.

Responsibilities:
* Ensure CAFCASS intervenes effectively for children in need of services
* Work from a home base with court visits within Gwent
* Conduct advanced social work case analysis and update as circumstances change
* Provide expert advice to courts to facilitate timely proceedings and positive outcomes for children
* Administer and comply with court orders, conducting necessary inquiries per legislation and court rules
* Create and monitor child-focused work plans, with ongoing reviews
* Coordinate legal representation for children and collaborate with relevant agencies
Candidate Requirements:
* 2-5 years experience in a similar social work role
* Registered with Social Care Wales
* Ability to manage full, complex caseloads
* Child-focused with experience in relationship-based and systemic practice
* Good understanding of issues faced by children and families, and procedures to manage risks
