We are looking for a Construction Manager who will be responsible for planning and leading the construction on the biomethane gas-to-grid Yorkshire Water projects in Sheffield and Leeds, working closely with other disciplines to ensure the successful construction and commissioning of each site.
This role will be accountable for delivering both sites to the highest standards of safety, quality, time, and budget. As the projects are based on water treatment sites, experience of working on wastewater facilities will be highly beneficial.

1. Implement the highest construction safety standards – using a disciplined and methodical approach to site set up and works controls to ensure risks are managed.
2. Implement and measure environmental best practice to reduce the construction phase carbon footprint.
3. Establish and implement CDM Principal Contractor construction phase plan, maintaining the plan as required.
4. Ensure processes and procedures are following, (including RAMS reviews, permit to work and safe control of operations).
5. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including EA, HSE, YW, etc, to ensure that their requirements are met.
6. Plan and co-ordinate the sequencing of works to ensure a logical and efficient construction plan.
7. Interface with suppliers and contractors from different disciplines to manage works conflicts.
8. Manage the site supervision teams to ensure that work quality standards and maintained.
9. Ensure as-built documentation and variations to the design are captured & recorded during build.
10. Work with the commissioning manager to develop a successful commissioning plan.
11. Work with project stakeholders, suppliers and project management team to overcome challenges.
12. Inspect, monitor, document and sign off works to progress payment milestones.
13. Manage the works snagging and rectification process.
14. Report on project progress, highlighting emerging issues to the project team.
What you will need
15. Relevant construction experience in gas / utilities / infrastructure
16. Holds a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Black Card
17. Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) - CITB
18. Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely – or equivalent
19. Temporary Works Co-ordinator
20. 5-day 1st aid
21. CDM for Principal Contractors
22. Use of permit to work / safe control of operations processes
23. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
24. Able to work effectively with a broad mix of stakeholders including customers and suppliers
25. A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
26. Proficient computer skills including MS Office suite
