Customer Delivery Driver - Ebbw Vale Superstore
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver at Ebbw Vale Superstore. You will be the face of Tesco on the road, delivering customers\' shopping trips, meeting customers in their homes, and helping to create great service.
Rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour, increasing to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; you can also work fewer hours (minimum 12) if that suits you.
Availability Window
* Sun: 08:00 – 18:00
* Mon: 08:00 – 19:00
* Wed: 08:00 – 19:00
* Thu: 18:00 – 23:00
* Fri: 19:00 – 23:00
* Sat: 19:00 – 23:00
Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays used are clean, tidy and organised.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy, clear of rubbish and pick up litter as seen.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van, checking the van for road‑worthiness.
* Communicate with the customer about any changes to their order, including short code items, substitutions and refunds where required.
* Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any more for substitutions.
* Deliver within the customer's time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving at their property if early.
* Call the store/centre if 30+ minutes late.
Qualifications
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
* Warm and welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues.
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
* Share ideas with managers and colleagues to improve the store for customers.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
