About Blackfriars Bakery:
Since 1988, Blackfriars has been crafting delicious, long shelf-life bakery treats that customers love. From flapjacks and muffins to cake slices, cookies, and more, every product is individually wrapped for freshness and convenience. All products are proudly baked in our family-owned Wigston bakery.
The role:
Under the guidance of our Hygiene Team Supervisor, you will be helping to maintain our hygiene standards. We are a small and friendly team and you will follow a clearly defined schedule designed to support you in the role - you will always know what needs to be done and when.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Making sure that the site is maintained to excellent hygiene standards at all times.
· Cleaning the Bakery, Staff facilities (canteen, changing rooms, toilets, corridors) and external areas to the requirements of the Daily, Weekly and Monthly cleaning schedule.
· Ensuring that the correct chemicals are used when carrying out cleaning tasks.
· Ensuring that cleaning equipment/utensils are maintained in good condition for all areas.
· High levels, walls, floors, and skirtings are maintained to a good standard of hygiene.
· Drains are kept clean, sanitised and flowing.
· Maintaining soap and paper towel availability to staff.
· Ensuring relevant PPE such as mob caps, beard snoods, and aprons are available for all staff.
· Waste control.
· Any other hygiene-related tasks as requested by the Hygiene Supervisor, Production or Technical Manager.
Please note: Full support and training will be given for all tasks and any additional tasks where necessary.
Working hours: 10am – 6pm Monday to Friday (with ½ hour break)
Pay - £12.21 per hour
Annual leave – 20 days per year plus bank holidays.
