Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Geomatics Analyst to join a small team processing survey data to support the delivery of National Elevation Data Programmes. You will use specialist software and GIS to process and quality control data from Remote Sensing survey instrumentation, including an Airborne LIDAR Terrain Mapper.

The Team
The Geomatics team, within National Monitoring Survey, provides specialist services including collection and analysis of Lidar, Aerial Photography, Bathymetry & Satellite data. The team works with National & Area teams to co-deliver monitoring requirements for the Environment Agency and the wider environmental community.
Responsibilities
* Process survey data and perform quality control to support the delivery of National Elevation Data Programmes.
* Use ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap) and other specialist tools to handle large and complex mapping datasets, with a focus on airborne LiDAR when available.
* Contribute to processing and quality assurance of LiDAR datasets and LiDAR-derived Digital Elevation Models (DEMs).
* Apply remote sensing techniques, analyze data, and solve problems with attention to detail; communicate findings effectively.
* Organise work efficiently, meet challenging deadlines, and work unsupervised when required.
* Be flexible regarding working patterns and travel to EA offices or the Geomatics team hub as needed; interviews will be conducted in person in Bath.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant degree in Geography, GIS, Environment or related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience with understanding of operational applications.
* Demonstrable GIS experience using ESRI products (ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap) and handling large, complex mapping datasets, preferably including airborne LiDAR.
* Experience with processing and quality control of LiDAR datasets and LiDAR-derived DEMs is advantageous.
* Experience in Remote Sensing techniques, analytical/problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
* Good organisational skills, motivation, professional attitude, and ability to communicate effectively; capable of working independently to meet deadlines.

* Travel to Bath for team hub activities and in-person meetings; full-time contract with flexible working patterns considered.
