MID KENT ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED

An exciting opportunity to join one of the South East’s leading suppliers of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services. A four year apprenticeship with an in-depth structured training programme based upon the repair of industrial rotating equipment, gaining valuable engineering skills throughout.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

Year one spent full time at IPS (college) and years 2 – 4 spent in each MKE (employer) department, gaining valuable engineering experience and skills from experienced mentors throughout the business.

* Dismantling and reassembly of rotating equipment
* Electrical test and diagnosis
* Mechanical & electrical fault finding
* Rewinding of electric motors
* Dismantling and assembling pumps, motors, gearboxes and fans
* Dismantling, inspecting and assembling bearings and associated systems

Training

Your training course

Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3)

Maintenance and operations engineering technician Level 3

Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate. In Year 2, the Apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate. Starting in Year 2 and continuing until completion in Year 4. The Apprentice will continue to receive regular training contact with IPS all throughout the programme.
