Role Overview

We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Communications and Engagement Officer to join our busy and dynamic team here at Nottinghamshire Police – if you’re looking for the next step up in your communications career then this could be the job for you.

You’ll manage complex situations, from media crises to delivering press releases that influence behaviours to protect the public and save lives. Nottinghamshire Police is a forward‑thinking force, focusing on a communications strategy that puts people, storytelling and content at the heart of everything we do.


Responsibilities

• Write press releases and statements

• Support behaviour change campaigns

• Manage all communications channels

• Use photography, videography, design and print work to enhance communications


Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Background in journalism or communications

• Understanding of web development, filming and video editing (desirable)

• Experience with forward planning, communications campaigns and media management

Vettings & Requirements

Vetting Level – Management: you must have resided in the UK for at least the last five years, with less than 12 months spent abroad (some exceptions for those living on a UK military base).
