Job Summary:
We are seeking a Fish Filleter to join our team full-time. You will fillet a variety of fish for both retail and wholesale customers, ensuring top-quality products while maximising yield and efficiency. Previous experience in fish filleting is advantageous but not essential as we will provide training for the right candidate.
Hours:
* Full-time: 40 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, 4:00 am – 12:00 noon, possible Saturday cover may be required
Key Responsibilities:
* Fillet, clean, scale, gut, and prepare various fish species by hand
* Maintain high product quality and yield standards
* Report any yield anomalies to the Filleting Lead or Factory Manager
* Correctly and safely uses knives & other factory equipment
* Assist in product development and stock monitoring
* Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures (GMP/HACCP)
* Lift boxes of fish safely and maintain a clean working environment
* Support team members and contribute to a positive, productive workplace
Requirements:
* Ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely
* Physically fit to lift heavy containers (up to 20kg) and work in a cold, wet environment
* Flexible, reliable, and a strong team player
* Previous experience in fish filleting is advantageous but not essential
* Level 2 Food Safety qualification preferred (training can be provided)
