Fair Ways is a leading children’s services charity based in the Solent, delivering Fostering, Education, Residential, Mental Health, and Family services, caring for over 400 children, families, young people, and vulnerable adults each year.
Where and when do we need you?
We are seeking compassionate Support Workers for our supported living home in Bath. Join us to empower young adults towards independence in a supportive environment. Our Post-16 provision includes small family homes with private rooms and shared communal areas, emphasizing stability, consistency, and responsibility.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
1. Building strong connections with young people through excellent communication and teamwork.
2. Supporting their growth with social skills, therapeutic activities, and role modelling.
3. Working as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing environment.
4. Providing individualised care focusing on personal development, well-being, and exploring education or work opportunities.
5. Fostering independence by supporting daily tasks and life skills.
6. Building respectful relationships, liaising with professionals, and managing administrative duties.
7. Using trauma-informed approaches, including therapeutic and physical interventions as needed, supported by RiiSE training.
This role involves a weekly rota of 37.5 hours, working a pattern of 2 days on, 4 days off, with approximately 2 sleep-ins per week, paid at an additional £50 per sleep-in. The schedule offers a good work-life balance.
Requirements:
* Full driving license and access to a car (home vehicles available as first option).
* Enhanced Disclosure (DBS) clearance, costs covered by Fair Ways.
Desirable but not essential:
* Support to undertake Level 3 qualification if not already held.
