The Role
We re looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Supervisor to support our Workshop Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of our busy workshop!
You ll coordinate production activities, oversee schedules, and lead a talented team of joiners, machinists, and finishers. This is a hands-on role where your leadership, problem-solving skills, and commitment to high standards will help us maintain our reputation for outstanding results and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation
* Oversee job boards, work instructions, and production schedules to meet deadlines and quality expectations
* Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staff, promoting a culture of safety, pride in craftsmanship, and teamwork
* Conduct regular health, safety, and environmental checks, ensuring compliance and high housekeeping standards
* Support quality control processes to ensure all finished products meet company and client specifications
* Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to team members and apprentices
* Work closely with the Workshop Manager and wider business to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
About You
* Proven experience in a joinery or manufacturing workshop environment (supervisory or team lead experience desirable)
* Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and workshop procedures
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team
* Detail-focused with a passion for delivering work of the highest standard
* Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do approach
