Role Introduction
The Credit operations - Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the collections function within the company. This role involves leading a team, collaborating cross-functionally with sales, customer success, and finance, and implementing strategies to improve cash flow, reduce credit risk. You will ensure smooth and efficient processes across all stages of the customer lifecycle, with a focus on accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
What You Will Do
* Credit & Collections: Lead credit the collection activities to minimise risk, reduce overdue debt, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and ensure healthy cash flow. Develop and implement effective collection strategies for overdue accounts, collaborating with the legal team if necessary. Build strong relationships with customers to address any payment issues and negotiate payment terms as needed. Liaising with internal stakeholders on adhoc questions, queries and escalations.
* Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of collectors. Establish performance goals, provide regular feedback, and encourage professional development. Foster a collaborative and customer-focused culture within the team.
* Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and integration with other business systems. Lead initiatives to streamline collections, enhancing overall operational efficiency. Implement best practices and technology solutions to improve accuracy and reduce manual tasks.

What You Will Have
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
* 10+ years of experience in credit collections ideally in a SaaS or subscription-based business, however we would consider other industries (Insurance, Professional services, Financial and or Legal services).
* Strong understanding of SaaS models, subscription contracts, collections strategies and revenue recognition.
* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* In-depth knowledge of financial systems and tools, such as NetSuite and Salesforce.
* Ability to analyse financial data and make recommendations for process improvements.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualisation tools.
* Experience with project management and process optimisation initiatives is a plus.
