Role Overview – Field Service Engineer We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join this respected engineering team. This is a field-based position ideal for an engineer who enjoys autonomy, technical variety, and direct customer interaction. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of forklift trucks across the local territory, carrying out diagnostics, attending breakdowns, and performing LOLER/Thorough Examinations. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance Perform reactive repairs, diagnostics, and fault-finding Complete LOLER/Thorough Examinations Conduct component-level repairs on a range of trucks Attend customer breakdowns within the local region Deliver a professional, customer-focused service at all timesPackage & Benefits £42,000 basic salary overtime Company van and fuel card 40-hour working week (08:00–16:30) 28 days holiday statutory Ongoing training and qualifications Genuine progression within a stable, long-established businessDesired Skills, Qualifications & Experience City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Forklift, Plant, HGV, or similar mechanical discipline (desirable, not essential) Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic ability Experience with electric, diesel, or LPG forklifts Full UK Driving Licence Typically 10 years’ experience working on forklifts or similar equipment
