Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person with excellent communication and organisation skills to provide reception and administration support to the Wealden Mental Health Neighbourhood Team at our Millwood, Uckfield site.
You should be able to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues at all levels, work unsupervised as well as part of a team and have experience of working in a reception and/or office based environment.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential and previous experience working in a healthcare setting and using patient systems would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
Welcoming visitors and providing assistance, including arrangements for access requirements and ensuring that the appropriate staff member is informed of their arrival.
First point of contact for calls to the service, transferring calls to the appropriate staff member, answering queries where appropriate or seeking help when necessary.
To produce from audio and typed notes clinical letters to a high standard of presentation and accuracy using appropriate Trust templates, in line with Trust guidelines.
Provide general administration support including, photocopying and scanning documents, uploading information onto the patient information system, post duties and sending documents to Pharmacies and GP surgeries

The Wealden Mental Health Neighbourhood Service includes Psychiatrists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support Workers and General Mental Health Practitioners. The post is based at our Millwood, Uckfield site working within the Administration Team which comprises of 9 staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
NVQ 3 or equivalent
RSA 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience or equivalent
Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
Proven experience of a range of secretarial procedures
Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy
Experience of maintaining office systems
Experience of working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
Understanding of medical terminology
