About the Role
We are looking for a new Assistant Management Accountant who can help support the awesome Finance Manager in preparation of management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis, while playing a key part in stock accounting and inventory control processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or finance professional looking to deepen their experience in a fast-paced environment with room for growth and professional development.
Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
* Assist in preparing the company’s monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Oversee completion of monthly UK and BV bank reconciliations.
* Preparing and posting Accruals.
* Preparing and posting Prepayments.
* Preparing and posting Stock reconciliations.
* Gross Margin and P&L review and posting any adjustments required.
* Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, assess financial performance, and provide insights for strategic decision-making (against budget and forecast).
Financial management, budgeting and forecasting:
Oversee the accounts payables function to:
* Ensure weekly payment runs are completed.
* The accounts payable and inventory ledgers are maintained accurately.
* Supplier statement reconciliations.
* Conduct regular updates to weekly cashflow forecasts, updating projections based on changing business conditions.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, working closely with head of finance to compile financial data.
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies, maintaining integrity in financial reporting.
* Assist in the preparation for audits by providing necessary documentation and working with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Collaboration and Support:
* Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and supply chain, to provide financial insights that support operational efficiency and profitability.
* Undertakes any other ad hoc duties to support the Finance Department.
Qualifications
* 3+ years’ experience preferably within FMCG.
* Part-Qualified Accountant.
* Able to work from our Central London office 2-3 days per week
Required Skills
* Strong MS office skills including advanced Excel and model building capability.
* Experienced using Sage 200.
* Experience of SQL, Python, or similar, for data extraction, manipulation and analytics is preferable.
* Self-starter who is eager to solve problems, devise solutions and take responsibility for implementation.
