The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator in Newcastle University’s Educational Leadership Centre. In 2020 the Centre became a founding member of the School-Led Network, a consortium between Newcastle University and three leading Multi Academy Trusts, to become a national provider for National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), and since 2023 we have been delivering the programmes in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching. We also deliver bespoke leadership training to schools and MATs in the region, as well as hosting a network of leaders in Professional Development to enable networking and co-creation of quality programmes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with strong administration, IT, communication and organisational skills to oversee the administrative and technical processes surrounding the delivery of these programmes.
You will work alongside the Professional Services Manager and Programme Director to provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective running of our programmes delivered in partnership with key stakeholders.
The post is full time, fixed term until 31 January 2027.

Key Accountabilities
* Provide comprehensive administrative support for associated staff (both internal and external) involved in delivery of our programmes, whilst ensuring that policies, deadlines and standards are met
* Act as expert user of the various project specific systems, and Learning Platforms, including data extraction, running reports and for training other staff where appropriate
* Support the Programme Director with the administration and organisation of facilitator recruitment, induction arrangements and training
* Lead on recruitment activities, using existing channels to their full potential as well as identifying possible new avenues to promote the programmes
* Update internal and external systems consistently, ensuring accuracy of data. Be able to produce reports for both internal and external use, and track progress against internal and external KPIs
* Build trust-based professional relationships and manage correspondence with strategic leads in schools regarding the delivery of the programmes
* Provide secretarial support for committees. Preparing agendas, supporting documentation, taking minutes, and ensuring follow up actions are taken
* Provide administrative support for internal and external reviews i.e., Ofsted, DfE, University, National Institute of Teaching and University College London Institute of Education internal workstreams, collating documentation where required
* Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required; assisting other staff at times of heavy workload flexibly and co-operatively within the Centre and the School to provide a co-ordinated and efficient support service

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:

* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Able to engage students and staff at all levels, tailor message to audience and respectfully challenge where necessary
* Confidence to advise students and staff on matters of regulation and procedure
* Excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office, processes and procedures and experience working with Learning Management Systems
* Ability to consider new ways of working and to apply new technology
* Uses systems and tools to ensure records and audit trails are clear and up to date
* An organisational understanding of what stakeholder requirements are and a commitment to delivering an effective and efficient service
Desirable
* Ability to train/develop and supervise other staff
* Knowledge of recruitment and marketing activities via multiple channels for example social media, mail-outs, email campaigns and web presence
* Ability to create simple marketing designs for fliers and social media
Qualifications
* Grades 4-9 in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent work experience) in a relevant role and/or comparable setting
