Overview
We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team on a long-term basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students with special educational needs (SEN) succeed both academically and socially.
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including in-class assistance and small-group interventions.
* Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
* Promote inclusion and ensure that students with additional needs can fully access the curriculum.
* Assist with preparing resources and adapting materials to meet students’ learning requirements.
* Support the emotional well-being and personal development of pupils, fostering confidence and independence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience working with young people who have SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic and positive approach, with excellent communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are an advantage, but strong relevant experience will also be considered.
