Head of Retail Operations (FTC)

The Head of Retail Operations (FTC) is responsible for collaborating with the Bicester Village flagship Retail leadership team on strategic planning, key commercial growth initiatives, and implementing operational best practices and new technologies.


Key responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

1. Development and execution of strategic plans
* Develop and implement strategic commercial and operational plans to drive sales growth with Retail and Deputy Directors.
* Lead initiatives from a retail and 360 village perspective to maximize impact, identify new business opportunities, and foster innovation and productivity.
* Utilize data analytics to assess performance of commercial plans.
1. Leadership & Team Management
* Collaborate with the retail leadership team to improve efficiencies and develop business tools that enhance ways of working across the retail team.
* Manage and mentor a direct team of 3 to support flagship operations across retail and 160 brand partners.
1. Budget Management
* Oversee and monitor retail team budgets, including Retail, Food & Beverage, Training, Recruitment, and Personal Shopping, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
* Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring to identify savings opportunities, with regular reporting.
1. Brand Communication Strategy
* Lead the delivery of brand communication strategies and content, such as Store Manager Meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Newsflashes.
* Oversee brand training related to operational systems.
1. Operational & Compliance
* Develop, adapt, and standardize retail operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, working with auditing and legal teams.
* Manage retail village and brand KPI reporting, insights, and market performance analysis.
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work cross-functionally to implement operational best practices and new technologies, ensuring a best-in-class experience for Village teams and Brands.
* Act as a key liaison with departments such as Guest Services, Marketing, Retail Development, Partnerships, Legal, Finance, and IT.


About You

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and skills:

* Degree qualification or relevant experience is preferred.
* At least 5 years of proven experience in a senior management or similar role.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business and with customers, demonstrating creativity and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to manage short-term tactical tasks while maintaining a strategic outlook.
* Strong project management skills, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
