Ocean Imports Coordinator – Ashby de la Zouch
Responsibilities
* Manage end‑to‑end ocean import shipments, including FCL and LCL.
* Coordinate with customers, suppliers and overseas colleagues to maintain visibility and control throughout the shipment lifecycle.
* Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Submit customs instructions promptly to support clearance processes and avoid delays.
* Monitor shipment progress using internal systems, proactively identify and resolve issues.
* Act as main contact for allocated customers, handling queries, requests, claims and complaints with a solutions‑focused approach.
* Control costs, check and manage charges to ensure financial accuracy.
* Arrange onward transport and coordinate final delivery.
* Communicate effectively across teams and participate in continuous improvement initiatives or projects.
Qualifications
* Solid experience in ocean imports and a strong understanding of end‑to‑end shipment processes.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced ocean or multimodal environment with multiple priorities.
* Strong communicator, capable of building effective relationships internally and externally.
* Proactive problem‑solver with a logical approach, prioritising workload while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
* Collaborative team player who can work independently when required.
* Experience with Cargowise is advantageous.

Work Location and Hours
Location: Ashby de la Zouch. Monday to Friday with shift options: 08:00–16:30, 08:30–17:00 or 07:30–16:00.
