Bird College is an outstanding and innovative international provider of education and professional training in Dance, Music and Musical Theatre.
We are seeking qualified and experienced therapists to be part of our creative and supportive team. You will be providing short term therapeutic interventions for our students, and you will offer longer term therapeutic interventions to students with safeguarding concerns. Where appropriate, you will also make referrals to external agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside other therapists within the team and to play a vital role in the lives of our students. You will work collaboratively with the senior management of the college in the promotion of students’ mental health and wellbeing. You will be responsible for the booking of therapy sessions for your caseload and assist in the organisation and daily function of the service.
Applicants must be qualified and experienced in counselling young people and be BACP Accredited or registered with another recognised professional body. Counsellors about to apply for accreditation or going through the accreditation process will also be considered. It is preferred that the applicant has substantial experience as a supervisor and is adept at conducting group counselling sessions. It is desirable that the applicant has knowledge of the performing arts.
We are looking to recruit a total of 1.6 full-time equivalent (FTE) counsellors within the college term dates. There is flexibility in how this can be arranged, and we welcome discussions with applicants about the hours they are seeking.
The students are timetabled between 8.30am-7pm Monday to Friday and your working hours will fit within this timeframe. Discussion regarding the possibility of working on Saturdays is also welcomed and the working schedule will be discussed at interview.
