We have a great opportunity for a Financial Controller to provide leadership, management, consolidation and reporting activities for the UK entity and its divisions.
The Financial Controller would work directly for the VP Financial Control & Group Reporting and provide strategic planning, financial reporting, advice and support to the Divisional/functional finance leads/teams to support all reporting requirements. This would own and maintain the governance of our reporting systems, ensuring all financial reporting demands are understood to support our monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting requirements. You would also need to ensure the data that underpins management, group or statutory reporting is coherent/robust and validated.
In this role you will;
1. Manage the requirements of the annual 5 year Integrated Business Plan process and ensure that all requirements and activities are aligned and understood. You will also own and support the delivery of a number of Divisional P&L and Balance Sheets.
2. Be responsible to lead/develop a team to support you in delivering these requirements to the business and ensuring the development needs and succession planning are maintained. Also playing a pivotal role with the transformation team to support and shape the future business systems requirements as reporting requirements changes an evolve.
3. have responsibility for ensuring compliance with internal and external financial Policies and currently adopted accounting standards.
4. Ensuring that all the information being reported has been validated through the reporting system and is consistent across stakeholder groups.
5. Full accountability for the financial input to maintain and control the Divisions P&L and Balance Sheets under your control.
6. Provision of the strategic Plan and annual budget prior to VP Finance and CFO review. This includes financial scenario planning. Success depends on influencing, challenging & working closely with other finance teams to deliver a robust plan. • Support the Finance transformation team with reporting delivery activity.
7. Provide robust challenge to senior leadership and LoB finance teams and give recommendations and feedback as required.
8. Continual process improvements implemented to make more efficient and effective use of resources.
9. Lead the financial education of non-finance staff operating within each Functional area, to ensure an appropriate level of financial awareness and that leads sound financial decision-making.
10. Responsibility for effective business governance & compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Leonardo Directives and Leonardo Ltd Finance Policies Manual.
11. Other 3rd party reporting to support external audits, compliance, legislation.
12. Adhoc requests as and when demanded by the VP Reporting & Control.
What you’ll bring

13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build effective partnerships across multi‑disciplinary teams.
14. Experience in project or contract accounting (preferred).
15. Strong proficiency in MS Excel, with SAP experience highly desirable.
16. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to work.
17. The ability to adapt and re‑prioritise in order to meet key deadlines.
18. A commitment to producing high‑quality, accurate work and providing reliable support to stakeholders.
19. An enthusiastic and motivated attitude, with a genuine interest in working within a complex, multi‑divisional organisation.
This is a full‑time position, with the option for Custom Working, including some flexibility to work from home depending on business needs.
