General:
This is a sole-charge role.
The candidate we are seeking will need to be capable of handling high-volumes of incoming documents. This is a largely paper-based office due to the nature of the operations. You will be solely responsible for everything concerning finance within the business.
* Main point of contact for all account related matters
* To manage daily accounts emails
* Responding to customer enquiries and complaints regarding accounts
* Maintain and manage excel supplier tracker – an inhouse ledger spending monitor
* Follow up on credits and returns
* Set out/adjust/review and submit all client invoices – obtaining POs where necessary
* Maintain database of information relating to invoice processes
* Input all accounts onto SAGE – Sales upload, manual Purchase ledger and bank activity, manual bank reconciliation
* Manual payment
* Dealing with any accounting queries; whether from client, contractor or supplier
* Send statements to clients and remittances to suppliers
* Review Debtors and Creditors monthly and perform debtor chasing via email and follow up phone calling.
* A working knowledge of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT within the construction industry.
* VAT returns submitted to external accountant
* Manage CIS spreadsheet
* Preparing CITB Levy documentation
* Entering payroll journey (payroll is outsourced)
* Filing
* Answer telephone and take messages for other team members
* Gathering Barclaycard receipts and cross referencing to statement followed by entry to Sage;
Skills:
* A strong background in general and accounts administration
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* A good working knowledge of Sage 50
* Good IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages.
* The capacity to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
* Ability to liaise well with others
* Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent grammar and spelling

In addition to the above, a degree of flexibility is required as we are a small team if/when required. A basic understanding of other roles within the company is expected (In house training is given).
