Hi,
I am currently looking for a caring, experienced, and emotionally intelligent childcare professional to support me and my 7-year-old son, Oscar, during an important period of transition.
Oscar lives with his dad and attends school in Batheaston. He is an articulate, bright, and funny boy who loves music, acrobatics, writing, and computer games. He enjoys high-energy activities, baking, and stories at bedtime.
This role is slightly different from a standard nanny position, as it involves both childcare and a supportive presence alongside me. I’m looking for someone who can help maintain a calm, consistent, and nurturing environment, and model gentle, structured approaches to behaviour and emotional regulation.
Initially, I am looking for around 2 hours after school once a week, with the intention to increase over time to more regular support—potentially every other day after school and some weekends.
Weekend support may include:
- Occasional travel to Harrow (London) to stay with my parents and join outings
- Local outings in Bath, Batheaston, or Bradford-on-Avon
In time, I hope to return to overnight stays during the week, where support with routines and school drop-offs would also be appreciated.
I would really value someone who:
- Has strong experience with children and behaviour management
- Can model calm, consistent discipline techniques
- Is patient, grounded, and non-judgmental
- Is comfortable working alongside a parent rather than independently
- Understands emotional regulation in both children and adults
I’d also love support encouraging Oscar with his art, maths, and social-emotional development.
We have a very close and loving relationship, and I’m keen to maintain consistency in routines across both homes, ensuring he is well rested and supported for school.
Requirements include:
- Previous childcare/nanny experience
- Confidence with gentle, structured boundaries
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- References
- Driving licence preferred or comfort travelling by car
