Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Ashchurch, Gloucestershire (Hybrid Working Arrangements, minimum 2 days onsite per week).
Role Type: Full Time / Permanent (37 hours per week).
The Role
As a Senior Commercial Manager within Mission Systems, you will provide commercial leadership across complex, business‑critical contracts, influencing customer missions, driving sustainable growth, and shaping commercial strategies aligned with performance, innovation and risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial contract management and governance across the full contract lifecycle.
* Deliver negotiations, pricing activities and commercial input for new and organic growth opportunities.
* Identify and implement pragmatic, value‑adding commercial solutions that support win‑win outcomes.
* Support and execute commercial strategies aligned to business and customer objectives.
* Mentor and guide commercial team members and share best practice.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience leading commercial and contract management activities within complex, matrix organisations.
* Strong background in negotiations, commercial risk management and contractual frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience supporting bid activity, proposals and pricing strategies.
* Ability to operate confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience leading, inspiring and developing people at all levels.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law or Accountancy is desirable but not essential.
* Functional qualifications such as Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM) are advantageous.
Security Clearance
Must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) clearance for this role.
