Job Description To lead the Asset Management Commercial Buildings Team and provide and develop a high quality Estates Management Service, as directed by the Service Manager Property, Estates and Assets. Requirements • To manage the Asset Management Commercial Buildings Team. • To provide a comprehensive Estates management service for the Council’s non domestic land and buildings portfolio. • To support the development of the Council’s Corporate Property Asset Management Strategy and associated plans. • To provide appropriate information and advice to the Council, its partners and external clients on property related matters. To seek continuous improvement in service provision. The Individual Extensive experience in a Local Government Estates Office. Extensive experience in the acquisition, disposal, valuation and management of industrial, commercial and residential property Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Commercial Property and Valuation Faculty) with considerable relevant post qualification experience Supervisory skills. Organisational and time management skills. Self motivation, ability to deal with a heavy workload with the minimum of supervision. IT skills (MS Excel, Access, GIS and Property Databases Ability to work using initiative and common sense and take balanced decisions Good analytical and numerical skills. Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy. Full Driving Licence and access to vehicle Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Ability to present complex detail in writing and verbally to a variety of audiences. Strong negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to relate well to colleagues, elected members and the public.
