* Order, receive, and store raw materials and consumables.
* Prepare cereals for the mashing process and process grist to produce high-quality wort for fermentation.
* Control and monitor fermentation to achieve a fully fermented wash.
* Distil wash to produce new make spirit to the required specification.
* Transfer and record spirit movements accurately, ensuring full HMRC compliance.
* Prepare spirit for dispatch via road tanker or for cask filling operations.
* Support warehouse operations including cask filling, handling, stowing, and tanker dispatch, with associated HMRC and EMCS documentation.
* Conduct routine sensory (organoleptic) evaluation of raw materials and new make spirit.
* Complete all operational documentation and system entries accurately and on time.
* Perform handovers effectively between shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
* Take ownership of basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks under the site's Asset Care programme.
* Operate and monitor process systems via SCADA and other digital platforms.
* Perform compliance checks relating to quality, safety, environment, and HMRC standards.
* Ensure full adherence to statutory and company requirements on Health & Safety, Food & Feed Safety, Environmental Management, and HMRC regulations.
* Participate in shift work on a rotating 24-hour, 5-day pattern (average 37 hours per week), including nights.
* Support maltings and warehouse operations through monitoring, sampling, analysis, and other tasks as needed.
* Carry out other site operations or additional hours as required to meet business needs., Maltings Tasks
* Manage the order, receipt, and safe storage of raw materials and consumables.
* Prepare cereals for steeping with precision and care.
* Monitor the pre-germination cycle and control the germination process to produce consistently high-quality green malt, including sampling and analysis.
* Transfer germinated malt to the kiln, ensuring quality at every stage.
* Oversee and manage the peating process, alongside the control and monitoring of kiln drying.
* Maintain accurate malted barley stock management records.
* Prepare and test samples, including phenol analysis and other quality checks.
* Conduct routine organoleptic evaluations of raw materials, green malt, and finished malted barley.
Warehousing Tasks
* Prepare and dispatch new spirit via road tanker.
* Prepare spirit for cask filling, operating the flow log system with accuracy.
* Safely handle and stow casks, both manually and using FLTs and other handling equipment.
* Receive empty casks and carry out minor repairs where needed.
* Manage cask intake, removal, and re-casking activities.
* Carry out organoleptic evaluation of new make distillate, casks, and mature spirit.
* Perform specialised manual handling tasks and work on your feet for prolonged periods.
Across Both Functions
* Carry out Operator Asset Care, including routine maintenance and housekeeping.
* Perform compliance checks covering quality, environmental, food and feed safety, HMRC, and risk management.
* Operate Windows-based and other software systems to record and communicate work accurately.
* Use SCADA systems to manage computer-based processes.
* Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and internal procedures, including HMRC, environmental, and safety requirements.
* Maintain accurate documentation and accounts.
* Provide clear, thorough handovers at every shift change.
* Any other site operations as required and you may be asked to work additional hours, to support business needs
